The Terrible Truth About LOL Cats!

Industry insiders recently uncovered raw footage revealing the aftermath of an LOL Cat photo-shoot. The images graphically depict what happens to kittens and cats after they’ve outlived their cuteness and “captionability”.

Eye-witnesses describe the lifeless cats and kittens found precariously posed in peculiar places as both “disturbing” and “heartbreaking”. Kitty corpses were haphazardly distributed throughout the otherwise normal suburban home in various places such as: boxes, ceilings, computer cases, buckets and even mason jars. Reports of deceased felines being “stacked like cordwood” outside the home are yet to be confirmed

PixelWit: The Early Animations

They say, “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” so I thought I’d flatter Senocular a bit by stealing his “Senocular-The College Years” concept and showing you 2 of my “early” (i.e. bad) animations.

My first early animation is called “Ouch” and I’m proud to say that it’s brilliantly awful. It follows the travels, travails and tribulations of a man with dangerous ideas in the midst of dangerous times. Deemed far too dangerous for society he is forced to pay the price. Did I mention the bit about danger and whatnot? Yes, yes indeed, Danger!

It is with great pleasure that I bring you, “Ouch”:

Spin the Black Circle Rotation Bug

It’s not often that 2 disparate articles on PixelWit.com coincide so I thought I’d tell you about my recent experience.

In my Ten Fun Flash Games article I mentioned a game called Spin the Black Circle. In another article about my experience with a Flash Rotation Bug I said, “I’m surprised I haven’t heard more about this particular bug since the conditions which cause it would seem fairly common.” Well guess what…. The Flash Rotation bug can also be found in the Spin the Black Circle game.

If you happen to know the developer Alejandro Guillen and would like to tell him about it, or if you just want to see the bug for yourself you can do the following

Eels to Urchins Game Updated: Best Scores

Eels to Urchins now keeps track of the 15 best scores. I currently have the lowest score (12,982) but it shouldn’t be too tough for someone else to beat it. Test your skills and see where you stand.

This is my first time implementing “High Scores” in a game so drop a comment if you see anything weird or out of the ordinary.

Eels to Urchins Updated

My Eels to Urchins Flash game has been updated. Changes include the following:

  • Instead of rolling over the Eels, you guide a white Urchin to them.
  • Scoring has been added with ‘Best’ and ‘Average’ statistics.
  • Statistics and audio preferences are stored in a local SharedObject.
  • The game now has an end. You can restart once all of the levels have been cleared.
  • Level variables are now stored in an easy to edit XML file.

Leave a comment to let me know what you think of the game.

Contact me if you’re interested in trying your hand at designing custom levels, its sort of fun. 😉

Eels to Urchins Flash Game

Here’s a Flash game that I’ve been playing with, I call it “Eels to Urchins” for fairly obvious reasons. I still need to develop the levels a little further but it’s at a point where you can give it a try and tell me what you think.
