Intelligent Youth on the Rise

It’s a rare occasion, but every now and then I actually pay attention to what’s happening on this blog. It was during one of these moments of heightened awareness that I noticed a recent trackback from a young whippersnapper (he ~claims~ to only be 16) linking to my Text Link Ads Needs Improvement article. With my curiosity piqued, I decided to visit his site and see what Mr. William Montanaro had to say about TLA.

I must admit I was quite impressed with what I saw. William appears to be very intelligent and extremely focused for a teenager. When I was sixteen I was interested in 4 things: girls, girls, girls, and cars (but mostly the first 3). Mr. Montanaro, on the other hand, is focusing his attention on writing and he’s well on his way to becoming a successful li’l web entrepreneur. But before I go too far extolling the many virtues of William’s site (clear concise writing, etc.), as a matter of full disclosure I feel it’s important to note that my opinion was in no way influenced by the very first paragraph of his blog post which states…

“Before you read this post, it might help if you peruse (skim) this post by Pixelwit (one of the most incredible flash developers I have ever seen by the way).”

Sure, he’s young, and maybe he’s never seen…

… but I like to think that a kid who is as “on the ball” as William surely knows what he’s talking about.

Thanks William. I’ll be checking your site every now and then for blog monetization tips so don’t you dare edit that “most incredible Flash developer” comment out. 😉

Don’t disrespect anyone who can sing “We’re the kids from America” (sans irony) despite hailing from Chiswick, West London!

I’ve done it again haven’t I. I’ve sullied your post with my inane comments.

Yeah, but didn’t Ms. (not sure if it’s Ms. or Mrs.) Wilde also say, “Where there is no exaggeration there is no love, and where there is no love there is no understanding.”? Pffft. That’s just stupid.

    I jest of course 🙂

However talking of youth and intelligence does bring to mind one of my favourite Wilde quotes – “I’m not young enough to know everything” – that Kim Wilde lady was pretty smart eh.

Meanwhile, injest some SunnyD, that’ll put you back on a high.

Other than using the antonyms “peruse” and “skim” as synonyms, WM seems fairly lucid to me. Quit harshing my buzz! Man, I need to ingest some emulsifiers and stabilisers.

Ah the youth of today, all jacked up on additives – …they don’t know what they’re saying half the time 😉
