    Hi Sean
First of all thanks for giving us this amazing code, it is really awesome.
My noob question is: how do you make it start automatically? In my webpage all I see is a black square, so people have to right click / press play in order for the flashbook to show up. The sound does start playing automatically, but not the flashbook. Is there a way to make the flashbook appear as soon as the page starts, without having to press play? Thanks for the help!

@Geeeeeeeeek, Make sure your textfields are all of the “Static Text” type or “embed your fonts“.

@Sander Wessel, You might be able to do it using the “ExternalInterface” class and some JavaScript.

@Emma Wellings, I’m not sure why the PageFlip file isn’t reloading like any other movie would.

@The Famous Unknown, Sorry for the delay, glad I could help a little. 😉

  4. No problem Sean. I worked it out all on my own 😉
Everything works great and I finally finished my website! 😀

I just want to thank you for sharing your pageflip script and for being there when help was needed.

Maybe in the future I will design a page flip orientated website. But being a beginner it was too complicated for me to realize my ideas.

    Peace bro

    Hello,
I’m making a website for the first time in my life, but I don’t seem to get the flip page working. When I put the photos in and ask for an example, I don’t get anything. Can anyone guide me through the process.

    thank you very much.

    greetings,

  6. Hi Sean,

Sorry to bother you again. I know you are a very busy man just like me…. 😀

I am trying to place your Improved flippage in to my flash website but I have no clue on how to do make it work???

I exported it as a movie and imported it to the stage where I want it. But it doesn’t place it there??? It makes individual frames of it and it places all this in a new layer. The result is that the pageflip doesn’t work.

Please tell me its something very simple…..

    Kind regards,

    Steve

    hello
I have got the pageflip working great 🙂 thanks!
All i need to do is put a button on the last page that when clicked starts the animation again?

I have tried it with a behaviour taking it to frame label ‘start’ (frame 1 , scene 1) but it doesnt work? it detects the button but doesnt start again?

    Thanks

    Hello Pixelwit,

is there a way to link from a different page directly to say flipTo(4); ?
The Flash file always starts with flipTo(1);. I would like to make an external html page with a index to link to say 5 pages within the .swf.

    Is this possible?
    Something like this:
    http://www.domain.com/index.php?action=flipTo4

    Thanks for your help!

I’m having an issue with dynamic content I added.

Everything I did displays fine on the page I placed it.
HOWEVER, when the page is turned, anything that has already loaded that is dynamic text (not images) disappears in a delayed horizontal sweep (not angled as the page is), causing it to stay visible on a page that it doesn’t belong on for a moment.
    Any idea? 🙂

    hi nice page flip…anyways i have a question….
im trying to put animations on every page such as fading text and rotating images, but everytime i click the cornerbutton(for flipping) it restarts the animation…could you help me with this…tnx alot

  11. Hi Sean,
    Hows it going?

I have been very busy lately and I finally found some time to start working on my website again…. I have a “final” design and I want to have my website up and running soon.

What I want to know is: How do I modify the preloader so that it works correct?……

I modified the loading bar to my liking and placed my “final” logo design above it. But every time it loads the logo stays in the background of the website. Which I don’t want I want it to disappear with the loading bar. dilemma dilemma what to do now? Do I have to create a motion tween of the logo so that it fades away?

Please tell me what I am doing wrong here?

    Kind regards,

    Steve

    Hey Pixelwit
I was wondering if we can afford to have transperent pages as well? Moreover, Can I flip page/s on click of a button?

    Great help
    Take care!

  13. ryan libre says:

thanks alot for that Sean, i had the sizes etc all right. when i clicked “import to stage” it appeared to center the image. but at your suggestion i hit the center align button and it moved it just a hair. looks better now.

  14. Pixelwit says:

@Ryan, Make sure your page content is the same size as your chosen PageWidth and PageHeight. Make sure all page content is centered on it’s own stage. Use even numbers for PageWidth and PageHeight. That should get rid of the gap. You can modify the shadow gradient with this tutorial.

  15. ryan libre says:

    hello all,

when i flip forward the book has a small white gap between the pages, but when i flip in reverse, usually, the pages match perfect. since my book is mostly spreads it is quite noticeable. is there away around this? How about the thin black lines in the center, possible to erase those?
